Each month, EMC recognizes talented individuals like Field Geologist, Matt Feller. Get to know Matt inside and outside of EMC.

Q: What’s your background and career path?

A: I graduated from the University of Southern Indiana in 2010 with a degree in Geology. After graduation I briefly worked at TRC in Chicago before accepting a field geologist position at EMC. Over the past eight years I have learned and slowly taken on more responsibility at EMC. I look forward to the upcoming changes here at EMC and I am ready to continue learning and advancing in my career.

Q: How do you feel about being named Employee of the Month?

A: I am honored to be nominated by my coworkers; it does feel good to be recognized for all the hard work that I have been doing recently. I know that everyone at EMC works hard and plays an important role in the day to day operations.

Q: What do you enjoy about working at EnviroForensics?

A: I really enjoy the variety in work that this job provides. Every project is different and presents new challenges as soon as I think I have something figured out I realize that I don’t. Thankfully, EMC employees have lots of combined experience and I can lean on my coworkers for advice and guidance.

Q: What is one of your most exciting projects at EnviroForensics?

A: I have really enjoyed working on the Owensboro GAB project. It started as a Phase I ESA that identified a historic dry cleaner as an REC. It has since developed into a long-term cleanup project that has included the installation of a vapor mitigation system.

Q: What is your life like outside of EnviroForensics?

A: I am married to my wonderful wife Leslee. We just celebrated our five-year wedding anniversary earlier this month. We have two children, Everett just turned 2 and Marley is almost 1, and pit mix named Sassafras. When I’m not hanging out with my family I enjoy being outdoors. I maintain a large garden and also enjoy running and cycling.
